Online Moderation Standards and Expectations
Our mission at BMI Federal Credit Union is to improve the financial lives of our members. In addition to exceptional products and superior Member Service, we are pleased to serve our community through our online and social channels. These channels allow us to share our promotional information, current and local events, and everything else finance. In order to achieve our goals and uphold our mission, we welcome and encourage feedback, reviews, inquiries, and contributions from our Members. In providing these opportunities, we reserve the right to restrict contributions in commonsense ways that limit our legal and reputational risk.
We Are a Family-Friendly Institution
We reserve the right to edit or remove any submission that we consider obscene, violent, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, sexually charged, or verbally aggressive (i.e. language) from any social channels. This includes reviews, comments, messages, photos, or anything that is otherwise shared with the public. This will also include the removal of any spam or arbitrary/unapproved outside advertisements from our pages.
We Protect Your Privacy
In order to protect your privacy and our legal obligation, we will not discuss any personal information through social channels. If you request assistance with your membership, accounts, and/or any promotions or services, we require you call our Member Service Representatives at 614.707.4000, where we look forward to assisting you. We also recommend you omit any personal information (contact info, account numbers, etc.) from your submission. Even “Private” or “Direct” Message, like Facebook Messenger and Instagram messages, are not private channels. We highly advise against them for personal information, and any response from BMI FCU will not be able to meet our standards of service.
We Avoid Controversy
We always say, “We make banking personal.” And we believe personal is important. However, we shy away from political opinions, religious views, or any overtly moral or controversial positions, events, or causes. We respect your institutions and our own, and work hard every day to provide the best in banking services for our entire community.
We Like to Have Fun
Social media has allowed us to have a little fun in providing the utmost in financial services. We share financial tips and opinions, goings-on throughout the community, ways in which you can help yourselves and others, and even the occasional finance joke. Please respect our initiative and our wholesome intentions, even if our jokes are lame.
We Play by the Rules
Believe it or not, as a financial institution we must comply with standard social media and advertisement rules. It can sometimes be tricky – say, with only 280 characters. In our dedication to remain compliant, we will always try to provide the most information possible, and if we can’t, we will try to make it a click away.
